Project: Dual Occupancy, New Build

Location: Redhead, 2290

Year Completed: 2025

Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the coastal suburb of Redhead, this dual occupancy project showcases our full-service approach—from acquisition and feasibility to planning, design, and construction.

  • Bordered by bushland to the north and neighbouring homes to one side, the site’s narrow width presented unique design challenges that demanded a refined, responsive solution.

  • The homes were carefully crafted to feel cohesive while catering to different programs and internal finish requirements. The exterior prioritises low maintenance with a robust mix of materials, including concrete, brickwork, metal cladding, and Barestone panels. Select elements of natural shiplap blackbutt cladding add warmth, thoughtfully protected and integrated into the façade.

  • Internally, this material palette continues with a more refined expression—polished concrete floors, Barestone feature panels, and blackbutt flooring and joinery provide a grounded yet elegant atmosphere.

The stair void becomes a central moment—inviting natural light deep into the home and extending the external materiality indoors through Barestone cladding, Blackbutt timber and steel balustrades.

Linear hallways, required by the narrow lot, were transformed into well-lit, ventilated circulation spaces through full-height glazing and doors. The site’s natural topography informed the stepped layout of the ground-floor living areas, where polished concrete floors and soaring raked ceilings—reaching over 4.5 metres—create a dramatic and open central living zone. Northern skylights and raked glazing introduce both vibrant and soft natural light, while the roofline offers shade and frames serene bushland views. The result is a pair of unique yet harmonious homes, designed to feel at one with their surroundings and crafted for longevity, comfort, and connection to place.
